Avant Life Early Learning Centre

Welcome to Avant Life Early Learning Centre (ALELC). Thank you for considering trusting us with the education and care of your children. We understand that this can be a big decision and consider it a privilege to partner with your family to see your child thrive in their early years. At ALELC, we believe ‘families’ are children’s most formative relationships and therefore place immense value on developing respectful and collaborative relationships with families. We are a faith-based community that believes in delivering high-quality early childhood education and care. At the core of all we do, is the belief that every individual is created by God, with inherent worth and destined for a purposeful life. We believe children learn best in a play-based environment where they are viewed as capable learners and their interests, ideas and abilities are valued and incorporated into the curriculum.

Our Core Values

Creativity:
We value a creative environment that encourages exploration, risk-taking, and self-expression. We believe every individual is creative in their own way and seek to support children, educators, families and the community to develop and use their unique talents and abilities.

Innovation:
We continuously seek new and creative ways to support children's development. We use a range of innovative approaches such as play-based learning, inquiry-based projects, digital tools and resources, and a variety of teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of children.

Integrity:
We prioritise the well-being of children, maintain transparent and trustworthy relationships with families and colleagues and uphold the highest standards of conduct. Educators create a nurturing environment that supports the holistic development of young children and prepares them for a successful future.

Community
We understand that it takes a village to raise a child. We value the vital role families play in who children become and we seek to support and guide families in any way we can. We see our community as a wealth of opportunity and knowledge and seek to build partnerships within our community that foster education and support.

Our Team

Alycia - Manager/Director/ECE

I’ve been an ECE for almost 20 years and have enjoyed working with children my whole life, starting as a fairy at children’s birthday parties as a 14 year old. I grew up in Australia and moved to Canada in 2017 to help start Avant Life Church. I absolutely love living in Squamish with my husband, and feel blessed to be living out my dream of managing the ELC during the week and relaxing by lakes and hiking through the mountains in my spare time.

Tamara - ECE/IT/SN

I’ve been an ECE for around 10 years, working with children from 0-5 years and also as a support worker. My parents are originally from El Salvador, and I spent 2 years as a missionary teaching children English. I was raised in Mission BC for over 25 years. and recently moved to Squamish to be part of this amazing team. In my free time, I love to read, go for walks, and hang out with friends and have recently been introduced to Squamish cold dips.

Sami - ECE

I recently completed my ECE certificate and made the move from Surrey to Squamish to join the team at ALELC. I grew up on the Sunshine Coast and moved to Surrey for school when I was ____. I have worked with children in ministry settings for over 10 years and
